Interior Inspections

The Interior Inspection by New Jersey Home Inspection Company Strictly Business Home & Commercial Inspections

The interior inspection of a ptoperty is not only an integral part of an overall inspection, but there are many components covered during the interior inspection. Typically nearly every component visible is inspected and observed for functionality and condition. Walls, floors, ceilings, stairways and railings are part of the interior structure. Also doors and windows are examined, as well as closets and other interior spaces. While most of what is inspected is visually observed, a professional inspector can uncover clues to the underlying condition of a property’s structural integrity.

Interior Features Inspected

Walls, ceilings and floors are the most obvious interior features. An inspector will note materials, condition and possible repairs.

Interior Home Inspection MoldOther observations relative to walls, ceilings and floors might indicate moisture and leaks; pest and insect damage; and structural failures such as sagging floors, or sticking doors and windows.

Also part of the interior aspect of a property inspection is noting outlets, major appliances, plumbing features, heating and cooling vents in each room, radiators, thermostats and major fixtures. All of these are components of other parts of an inspection, including the electrical systemplumbing system, and heating and cooling systems.

Kitchens and Appliances

Appliance InspectionsGenerally an inspector will take visual note of counters and cabinets, as well as the type and condition of major appliances. Defects may be noted and repair or replacement recommendations made.

Auxiliary Interior Features

Plumbing InspectionAs mentioned above, many of the components of the interior part of the inspection are themselves components of other systems. In areas where there are plumbing features, the presence of GFCI outlets is observed. Faucets are checked for function and flow, and toilets are observed for proper flush mechanics.
